EMP09 - Enterprise Management Project

EMP is an exciting Project from The Engineering Link Group, who have been educating students about engineering since 1994.

EMP is designed for students who want to get a head start on their colleagues; who want an advantage when they begin Year 12; who are enthusiastic about their future and want to begin that future NOW.

EMP has been created to cater for students about to enter Year 12 who want to increase their skills in the areas of:

• Team dynamics and Problem Solving
• Management and Leadership
• Entrepreneurship
• Marketing and Communication
• Venture Capitalization
• Time Management
• Engineering

WHAT WILL YOU GET OUT OF EMP?

The opportunity to meet, network and increase your skills in areas of your future that you would not normally encounter until you actually start your career.
You will have a head start!
A reference outlining your strengths for prospective employers at the conclusion of the Project will be issued. An invaluable asset for your portfolio!

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING AT EMP?

Participants will work in small groups (arranged before the Project begins) planning and designing an innovative product that they will research, market, finance, promote and sell at a Trade Display. All of this will be done in the company you form at the beginning of the course.

We have arranged the services of experts in their fields. You will learn how to manage your company effectively, examine the market and promote your product and write a business plan to present to prospective investors.

You will work with students from all over Queensland who have interests similar to yours.

You will have a lot of fun, meet heaps of great people, make life-long friends and invaluable contacts, and learn skills that they don't teach you at school.

Details of the 2009 Project are:

Where: Capricornia College, Central Queensland University, Rockhampton, Qld.

When: Sunday Jan 11 – Thursday Jan 15 2009

How much: $320 (inc. GST) – this is all inclusive – accommodation, food, all materials, excursions etc. This equates to less than $65 per night!

Paintball is an optional activity, but all students will be travelling to the venue.
