LEaST  program features…   

 

·              A 2 day workshop, specifically developed  for teachers  involved in the teaching of contextual material  in senior  science,  with applications for mathematics

·                Learn  about the roles of engineers  in society  and how their problem solving  approaches can be applied  to teaching in context 

·                Gain enrichment  and resource materials  for your current, or developing, contexts in Physics and/or Chemistry  .  Mathematics will be touched on and developed if time/opportunities permit. 

·                Network with real Engineers  , USQ  Engineering and Science academics  and other teachers  to form enduring partnerships  that will enhance  your classroom experience. 

·                Develop/enhance  a contextual unit  for your subject with otherteachers, academics  andengineers 

 

LEaST Costs  

$132 (including GST) for the full two days (or any part). 

 

This price includes: 

·         Morning tea and lunch, tea and coffee. 

·         Site visit transport 

·         Materials and resources 

 

Single Room accommodation can be arranged at USQ - $90 night (including dinner and breakfast in the college refectory).  Please include this amount if you intent to stay at USQ.  Alternatively, you can find your own accommodation.
