2025 M7-M12 Integration Project Bridge Competition Results

The 2025 competition, proudly supported by Transurban, was held on Friday, 15th August, at the AF9 John Holland M7-M12 Integration Office in Cecil Park.

Over 200 students and 30 teachers descended on a working site on Wallgrove Road, and demonstrated their expertise in bridge building.

The event was opened by Ms Charishma Kaliyanda, MLA (Member for Liverpool) and Andrew Battishall (Project Director – M7-M12 Integration Project). As well as testing 81 bridges (nearly double the number from 2024!) from 16 different schools across New South Wales, students were treated to a tour of the construction site of the bridges currently under construction as part of the expanded M7 to prepare for the expected population growth in Western Sydney. Professor Olivia Mirza and her team from Western Sydney University facilitated an exciting interactive activity for our students.

All of our guests were treated to a fantastic lunch, provided by Transurban.

The Engineering Link Group is extremely grateful to the entire team at Transurban for all of the work behind (and in front) of the scenes to ensure that the day went off smoothly. We also wish to acknowledge and thank the team at John Holland for hosting us and allowing us to “disrupt” their normally peaceful office site, and to Professor Mirza and the team from Western Sydney University for providing an interesting and exciting interactive activity.

We can’t wait to see what the students of New South Wales can produce in 2026!
