Forging links between schools and industry

Inspiring future engineers since 1994

The Engineering Link Group began with a three-day camp for Year 11 students and has grown into an award-winning organisation delivering STEM programs for students in Years 5 to 12, and their teachers, across Queensland and New South Wales.

Since our inception, TELG programs have directly impacted over 30,000 students and teachers.

Our Story

The Engineering Link Group was established in 1994 with a clear purpose: to help young people see that STEM subjects are engaging, valuable, and connected to meaningful careers in engineering and science.

What began as a single three-day camp for Year 11 students has expanded into a broad suite of programs for students and teachers across multiple states. Over the years, TELG has continued to build strong links between schools, universities, industry, and the wider engineering profession.

Today, TELG continues to create authentic, hands-on learning experiences that help students explore engineering pathways with confidence and curiosity.

Our Impact

TELG has successfully delivered programs across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria, supporting students and teachers through practical STEM engagement and authentic industry connections.

Our work has directly influenced more than 30,000 students and teachers, helping many young people consider engineering and science for further study and future careers.

We remain committed to expanding access to high-quality STEM experiences that are rewarding, relevant, and connected to real-world opportunities.

Our People

Greg Millican

CEO and Operational Director

Greg is a high school teacher with more than 30 years of experience and a passion for teaching mathematics and physics. He helped form the Engineering Link Group and initially balanced a full-time teaching load with delivering TELG programs. From 2014 to 2016, Greg was able to dedicate his full energy to growing TELG, helping its programs expand across three states. He now leads the Mathematics department at St Eugene College and continues to support Paul in his work with TELG.

Paul Richards

Chairman and Operational Director

Paul is the inspiration and driving force behind the Engineering Link Group. He founded the Group in 1994 with Greg’s support and, despite retiring from teaching biology in 2001, continues to work tirelessly to engage young people in science and mathematics.

Our Partners

The Engineering Link Group works with universities, industry, and business to create engaging and distinctive learning opportunities for students and teachers.

TELG has had a long association with Engineers Australia as an industry partner, strategic advisor, and sponsor of a range of education programs. We also work in partnership with universities to support the shared goal of increasing the number of informed students choosing engineering study and careers.
