M7-M12 Integration Project Bridge Competition
In August 2024, the inaugural M7-M12 Integration Project Bridge Competition occurred in New South Wales. Watch the video below to see the highlights of this fantastic event.
We are pleased to announce that the M7-M12 Integration Project Bridge Competition has returned in 2025. The M7-M12 Integration project includes over 40 new and upgraded bridges. To coincide with construction, we want students to build their strongest bridge using only store-bought spaghetti and glue!
Get ready for the ultimate showdown! We will again take over the AF9 John Holland M7-M12 Integration office in Cecil Park for the main event, and it will be live-streamed for those who can’t attend in person. If you can’t bring your bridges to the testing location, just courier/post your bridge to us, and we’ll record the test for you. Catch it live or dive into the recording later.
Testing Day:
Testing will occur on 15 August 2025, during Science and Engineering Week. Team registrations for the competition will open in July.
Location of Testing:
AF9 John Holland M7-M12 Integration Office, 112-118 Wallgrove Road, Cecil Park
Competition Information Webinar:
TELG and Transurban held a free webinar about the Competition recently.
A NorthWestern Roads engineer and TELG staff explored the physics and engineering of bridges and provided hints and tips on the competition itself.

What is the M7-M12 Integration Project?
Have you heard about the NSW Western Sydney Airport? Transurban is building new connections to get you there and many other places in Western Sydney. There are three big pieces of work to make this happen.
- M7-M12 Interchange: a new connection between M12 and the M7
- Elizabeth Drive Connection: a new connection between the M12 Motorway and Elizabeth Drive, including the realignment of Wallgrove and Cecil Roads
- M7 Widening: a new lane in each direction between the M5 and Richmond Road
