Join us in Cairns for the award-winning* Engineering Link Project, proudly supported by the Queensland Government and Engineers Australia and hosted by CQUniversity.

Designed for students in Years 10–12, this free one-day event provides a unique opportunity to work alongside professional engineers, tackle real-world challenges, and experience engineering at university.

Throughout the day, students will:

  • Work with practising engineers from a range of industries
  • Discover what engineers do and explore different engineering careers
  • Participate in hands-on engineering challenges
  • Develop teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience university life and work in CQUniversity engineering facilities

Students will take part in two interactive workshops where they will be challenged to solve authentic engineering problems. Guided by professional engineers, participants will investigate, design, test, and present solutions—just as engineers do in the real world.

This is a fantastic opportunity to ask questions, learn about engineering pathways, and gain valuable insight into future study and career options.
